2 disciplines to start TODAY

Bad people are everywhere. Liars, cheaters. Laziness and negative people. You're not going to get through life without meeting them. The trick in life is to not become them. That doesn't mean never go out and lock yourself indoors, though. But you do have to be prepared. Today, I'm going to show you two things you can do to make sure you live your best life.

Be strict with yourself, but tolerant of others: This seems self explanatory, but let's dive in, shall we? Now, we've all heard 'do unto others as we would have done unto us', right? Well, what if I told you that everybody you meet is going to have different views and perspectives than us. Something we may not like so much, others may value. They might care for you very much and end up doing something that you think is completely wrong, but to them, they are legitimately trying to help. I understand, not something you would do, yourself, but it's a big deal to them. How do you handle that? Are you going to tell them you hate it or that they are wrong? Or, maybe the better thing to do, respect their intentions.

You may be like me and are very calculated. You wake up at an early hour. Have your coffee by 530, and doing your morning stretching before others are even awake. Does this mean that people who are not doing this are living their lives wrong? Absolutely not. They may prioritize something completely different than you, and that's just fine. It's not our place to judge. It's our place to accept others for who they are.

Never be overhead complaining, especially to yourself: This one can be hard, I know. I still struggle with it. We wake up and think we're not good enough. I'm too fat. I'm too slow. They don't like me, and why even bother? If you ever think that, you're right. It's a horrible thing to say, and I'm not saying you really are, but we are what we consume and if all we do is feed bad thoughts and negativity, that's ultimately what we will become. No matter how hard we try to fix it, that's where our mindset is, so the first way to fix this is to stop. Stop complaining. Don't let you complain about you. You're too fat? Say I'm working on this and I'm proud of myself. Nobody likes you? Do you like you? Because that's where it starts, and if you like you, saying nobody likes you is a flat lie.

What about complaining about other things? Why would that matter? Does everything suck? It will suck if that's what you think. You are setting yourself up for failure, and often times, your negativity can spread to everyone around you. You are hurting the mood of everyone around you. Learn to see other sides, find some positive in whatever might be bothering you. I promise, everything has an upside somewhere.

Our minds are like fungi. Whatever it is, it will grow and multiply. If we dwell on the negative, we will find negative in everything. At the end of the day, all we can do is fuel ourselves with positivity and watch ourselves grow. Don't take time to judge the person next to you. Focus on you and blossom.
